ELIZABETH ANN LANDE - MISSING DATE: DECEMBER 12, 1971
DETAILS OF THE CASE
On Saturday, December 12, 1971, in the Overbrook Park neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - while talking and watching TV with two girlfriends - Elizabeth received a phone call from her boyfriend, Robert Thomas "Bobby" Nauss Jr., who called Elizabeth and asked her to come to visit him for the weekend around midnight. Elizabeth's parents were out of town on a week-long cruise at the time.
Her friends tried to dissuade her from seeing him because it was late. The friends disliked Bobby because of his reputation (he has abused Elizabeth numerous times throughout their relationship) and the fact he was a member of a biker gang called the "Warlock Motorcycle Club". Elizabeth left and was never seen again. Her friends left her residence afterward.
A neighbor from across the street heard a noise outside and looked out his bedroom window around the same time Elizabeth left to see her boyfriend around 1:50 a.m. He saw Elizabeth walk out her front door and enter a gold Oldsmobile Toronado waiting for her. This was the last time anybody would ever see Elizabeth alive.
In the early morning of December 13, 1971, Nauss' friend stated he saw Elizabeth's corpse hanging from the rafters of a parking garage behind Nauss' apartment building. The friend then helped Nauss dispose of the body in the Pine Barrens area of New Jersey, near Williamstown, New Jersey (about sixteen miles outside of Philadelphia).
On July 12, 1977, six years after Elizabeth disappeared - the same friend of Nauss now a witness - attempted to lead Law Enforcement to the location in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey where he said he had helped Nauss bury Elizabeth's body. The location was near Williamstown, New Jersey, about 16 miles southeast of Philadelphia. Housing subdivisions now occupied the previously heavily wooded area at that time. The witness tried several times to pinpoint the burial site, and the officers dug up each location but failed to locate her remains.
At trial, Nauss admitted that Elizabeth was dead, but stated she had taken her own life and he had not harmed her. However, several psychiatrists who testified at the trial did not believe Elizabeth was suicidal at the time of her disappearance, and Nauss' friend testified that he had confessed to killing her.
On December 9, 1977, Robert Nauss was convicted for the murder of Elizabeth Lande. At the time of her disappearance, Elizabeth was a student at Philadelphia Community College. Her remains have never been located, but foul play is suspected in her case due to the circumstances involved.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY - ATLANTIC COUNTY JANE DOE
DATE OF DISCOVERY: DECEMBER 6, 1971
DETAILS OF THE CASE
This young woman was found in the woods off Jim Leeds Road near milepost #42 of the Garden State Parkway by three hunters.
IDENTIFIERS:
WHITE (Non-Specific)
FEMALE
BROWN HAIR (Possibly not Natural)
UNKNOWN EYE COLOR
HEIGHT: 5'1-5'5
WEIGHT: 105-130 lbs
APPROX. AGE: 12-18
TIME FRAME IN WHICH THE PERSON BEEN DECEASED: Months
ATTIRE: She was wearing a "ribbed blue polo shirt", "white/blue/orange vertically striped canvas or cotton hip-hugger bell bottoms slacks" (NOTE: Found inside her pants was a key to a local motel along the Garden State Parkway) "underwear", and "white bra", and "brown leather sandals".
ACCESSORIES: She had a "brown wide leather band bracelet" with "small brass eyelets" all around the band. Attached to the bracelet through some of the eyelets was a small lady's Westclock watch. The watch did not appear to have been originally attached to the leather band but secured separately.
She had "light brown or auburn, straight shoulder length hair". Shades of blonde, brown, and red-brown with the presence of a coloring additive. Her hair color may not naturally be the color that has been described due to the coloring additive.
She had an extra sacral vertebra in her lower back.
She had a petite build.
Her teeth were described as “almost perfect”. She had only one carious lesion starting in her lower right molar. There were no restorations to her teeth and she had good occlusion.
She was found in a "skeletal" state.
Dental is available for identification.
Fingerprints are not available for identification.
DNA is available for identification.
Her cause of death is "SUSPECTED HOMICIDE" [POSSIBLE STRANGULATION].
THE COMPARISON
ELIZABETH ANN LANDE & ATLANTIC COUNTY JANE DOE
THEY ARE THE SAME PERSON BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING...
BOTH ARE WHITE
BOTH ARE FEMALE
ELIZABETH'S HAIR WAS NATURALLY "BLOND", BUT THE JANE DOE'S HAIR HAD "COLORING ADDITIVES" TO IT WITH A "BLOND", "BROWN", AND "REDDISH-BROWN" ADMIXTURE WHICH COULD GIVE HER HAIR A "STRAWBERRY" COLOR WHICH IS THE SAME HAIR COLOR ELIZABETH WOULD HAVE HAD AT THE TIME OF HER DISAPPEARANCE.
JANE DOE'S EYES ARE UNKNOWN BUT MORE THAN LIKELY THERE WAS SOME SORT OF LIGHT COLOR LIKE ELIZABETH'S EYES WHICH WERE "GREEN".
ELIZABETH WAS 21 YEARS OLD WHEN SHE WENT MISSING. JANE DOE IS BETWEEN 12 AND 18 YEARS OLD. SO GIVEN THE APPROXIMATE AGE RANGE OF THE JANE DOE, IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT BOTH WOMEN WERE AROUND THE SAME AGE.
ELIZABETH WAS BETWEEN 5'0-5'4 IN HEIGHT. JANE DOE IS ABOUT 5'1-5'5 IN HEIGHT. SO BOTH WOMEN'S HEIGHT ESTIMATE WAS MORE THAN LIKELY 5'4 IN HEIGHT.
ELIZABETH WEIGHTED 110-130 lbs WHILE JANE DOE WEIGHTED 105-130 lbs. BOTH WOMEN WEIGHED ABOUT THE SAME.
MAP OF ELIZABETH'S DISAPPEARANCE AND JANE DOE'S DISCOVERY
OUR THEORY
Elizabeth was killed much early than stated in the description of her disappearance. Jane Doe's post-mortem interval is "months" even though the body was discovered around the same time Elizabeth disappeared - about a week from one another.
Elizabeth had to have disappeared between October and November (most likely towards the end of November) which is still around the holiday season and around the time Jane Doe was discovered. In the few weeks between Elizabeth's disappearance and the discovery of Jane Doe, skeletonization could have already taken place on Jane Doe since skeletonization can start to take place within a matter of weeks. The inaccuracies of the time estimate for her disappearance are most likely due to the misremembering of events by the witnesses and perpetrators involved.
We do know and believe that Elizabeth was killed by her boyfriend Bobby Nauss. More than likely he strangled her with some sort of garrote (a weapon used for strangling somebody) and hang her body on the rafters of the parking garage to make it appear that she hung herself due to her history of psychiatric issues.
Nauss' friend stated that they buried Elizabeth in a shallow grave about 16 miles from Philadelphia in the pine barren area in Williamstown, New Jersey - which is about 32 minutes from Philadelphia. Jane Doe was found another 30 minutes away in a similar spot described by Nauss' friend. It is highly possible he misremembered the location of where he and Nauss' discarded the body.
It's also possible that her body was taken by New Jersey State Police weeks after they buried her body which led her to become a Jane Doe in Atlantic County, New Jersey. This would also explain why the friend and the police couldn't find the body due to it being discovered by the hunters in the forest weeks or days prior.
Also, one of the last pieces of clothing Elizabeth was seen wearing was "Bell Bottoms Jeans" which is the same type of article of clothing Jane Doe also found in. Plus, Elizabeth's hair color was "strawberry" at the time of her disappearance. To make this type of color, "Brown and Reddish Brown" have to be mixed in with her already natural blond hair. Jane Doe's hair color was a "light brown or auburn color" on discovery with the presence of a "coloring additive" to her hair. By doing a simple search on the web, you can see that strawberry hair color is about the same color that both describe the color of hair that Elizabeth was last seen wearing and the color of Jane Doe's hair.
PLUS, ELIZABETH AND THE JANE DOE LOOK CANDIDLY ALIKE WITH BOTH WOMEN "LITERALLY" HAVING THE SAME FEATURES WITHOUT GOING INTO SPECIFICS.
SO IF THIS IS "ELIZABETH" - AND WE ARE SURE IT IS HER - WE HOPE HER FAMILY HAS THE CLOSURE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR AND THAT JUSTICE IS SERVED TO THE PERSON THAT TOOK HER LIFE.
