UNIDENTIFIED PERSON CASE - RHODE ISLAND
BALTIMORE - PROVIDENCE COUNTY JANE DOE
DATE OF DISCOVERY: JULY 22, 2000
DATE OF DISCOVERY
This infant was found in a black garbage bag in the water of the Providence River behind an address in Providence. Her cause or matter of death is unable to be determined after scene investigation and complete postmortem examination, including histology and toxicology, were performed on the infant.
The infant could have come from down the stream with the currents carrying the bag from a destination further up the river. There was a two-week notice in the "Providence Journal Obituaries" circulated in an attempt to find the parents, however, no one came forward. The infant was buried at "Hoey Funeral Home" in Providence, Rhode Island.
PLEASE COME FORWARD IF YOU KNOW ANYBODY WHO WAS EITHER PREGNANT OR SUSPECTED TO HAVE BEEN PREGNANT AROUND EARLY 2000. THE INFANT WAS LIKELY CONCEIVED BETWEEN "NOVEMBER 1999" AND "MARCH 2000" (based on our best estimates from researching stillborn and full-term babies).
